DIARY OF A SINGLE MOM: THE PREPARATION
As promised, here's my second installment of the blog series I started at the beginning of this month. If you're unable to read it you can check it out HERE. As a single mom I have been into difficult situations, but never did I took it as a negative one, instead I live each single day happily. How I was able to do that? I prepared myself Spiritually, Mentally, Emotionally, Physically and Financially.
SPIRITUALLY : It's never been an easy journey, yes I have my family and few chosen friends who's been with me when I was pregnant and I'm really thankful for that but I am more thankful with him. I know that I have so many shortcomings but God never left me. Everyday, I always pray to him, that he'll guide me on this journey. Above all, He's my source of strength on turning all the negative things to positive one.
MENTALLY : I was judged by people around me, I've heard so many painful things from them, but I was prepared. I have already presumed, before I announced that I'm pregnant all the painful things that people might throw at me. I have encrypt on my mind that I needed to be strong and that everything happens for a reason. It's easier to face them with heads held high if you have accepted the fact that you're a single mom. My mom once told me that if you're treating them right then you're not the problem just let them be, instead of hating them, smile at them. Always remember that being KIND to people who hurts you is the SWEETEST REVENGE.
EMOTIONALLY : As far as I remember, I only cried really hard the night after confessing to my parents that I was pregnant. Like I've mentioned before, that was the hardest part. After that, I was able to control my emotions. It won't do any good if I'll cry and felt bad, especially that I am carrying my baby girl in my womb. The whole time that I was pregnant, I was really happy and because of that I have a bubbly baby girl. :)
PHYSICALLY : I failed on this with regards to keeping myself really fit. I gained too much weight when I was pregnant and because of that I gave birth earlier but not really that early, a week earlier as expected. I was induced because my blood pressure went high compared to normal. Thank God I was able to deliver normally and successfully. That's why after giving birth, I promised myself to be fit again and I'm slowly getting back to shape . Other than that, I was able to gave birth to a healthy baby girl. I have some cravings yes, and good thing I craved for fruits especially watermelon and strawberries.
FINANCIALLY : Since I didn't want to ask anything from her dad, I saved up. Things have changed from then on, I began to realized that I needed to learn how to budget everything. I have to give up my urge to buy new clothes, new beauty essentials or anything for myself except for food and vitamins though . Shopping for baby's clothes was one of the things that I get to enjoy. Being a single mom is hard yes, but trust me it is really fulfilling once you have done everything for her without anybody's support. It may be hard but it is all worth it.
I know that life is full of surprises, sometimes things will happen unexpectedly, but it's much better if you'll prepare yourself for all the challenges that life might throw at you.
Thank you for reading my second installment of this blog series, I hope you will read the next one too. You can read the first series "The Beginning".

Thanks as well dear! :)
DeleteI can relate to this post. I'm a single mother too and people judge you so much. But if they don't pay your bills, they don't have no right. Pay no mind to no one and live your life. What matters is that you and your little girl are well and healthy. :)
