Diary of a Single Mom the Untold Story

 "You're beautiful, why are you still single?" the most common question I always encounter. I don't really want to talk about these stuff especially that I'm raising a daughter single-handedly. This time I wanted to be heard through this blog post. 

Let me tell you why I remained single after all these years. I've been told that maybe I'm too picky, maybe I have a high standard or I should probably lower it because I am a single mom. I was laughing really hard when I heard those comments. If the society thinks that a single mom should just settle with anyone just because we already have a child or children, then you're all wrong. The more reason I have to be aware and pick the right person not just for myself but for my daughter as well. Those were the things we have to consider as a single mom. If you're a single mom like me, don't ever think that your value depreciates just because you already have a plus one or more. You have been in love and was heartbroken, you were given a precious gift that made your life more worthy than ever, that didn't diminished your worth as a woman in fact it added more value in your life. 

It is hard to find someone real and genuine in this generation. Where an I love you, I want to date you becomes easy for them to utter through text or DM's. It saddens me how someone can just tell you to marry them through a simple message on your instagram like it didn't mean anything. How can I simply be in love with someone through social media? How can I simply choose someone just for the sake of dating someone, when I know that I have to consider my daughter's feelings. It's never easy and it won't be easy but I trust God's timing. If I am bound to be a single mom for the rest of my life then I'll gladly accept it with a grateful heart. To be honest, being a single mom isn't easy, some says I need a partner for all the responsibilities as a parent which involves financial aspects. Yes, It's never easy but God always provides. 

That's why if you're like me, who's still single with a child or children, don't ever think you're not valuable anymore, because you are more than what they think you are. It's better to stay single forever than to settle with someone who doesn't deserve your love and affection. Especially with your child around, you have to pick someone who would love and accept them as their own which became rare nowadays. Focus on being a parent or a mother to your child or children because if someone is meant for you God will reveal the right person for you at the right time. Trust his timing.

As for me, I am not rushing for love because I know that God knows what my heart desires. Having my daughter completes me already and if I'll finally found love I'll consider it as a bonus from up above.
